Juan Martin Villanueva is a lawyer specialized in Criminal law from the School of Law of the University of Buenos Aires. He has completed a master’s degree in criminal law at the University of San Andrés and has completed various training and specializations in strategic criminal litigation and trial by jury. He has been part of UBANEX research projects at the Gioja Institute of the School of Law (UBA).

He has an intense career in the professional practice, having been part of law firms specialized in the field as well as practicing law in private practice. He is also a founding member of the law firm Pastor, Villanueva & Liniado. 

He has been an external consultant for several national and international organizations, litigating both before the IACHR and the WCW-UN, as well as providing private advice to companies and trade union organizations in criminal, contractual and human rights matters.

He is a professor at the University of Buenos Aires and has given several trainings related to the practice of criminal litigation, the handling of complex cases and judicial communication as necessary aspects of today’s professional practice.
